In this role, you are the cornerstone of the production process for high-quality machinery and installations. You translate technical drawings into tangible components and finished products, working in close collaboration with a team of draftspersons and assembly workers.
Job description
As a Construction Fitter, you are responsible for the independent fabrication and assembly of various metal structures. No two days are the same: one day you will be in the workshop welding a complex frame, and the next you will be on-site at a client’s location to professionally install the structure. You are the technical eyes and ears on the shop floor; you spot bottlenecks early and communicate directly with your supervisor to find the best solution.
Your Responsibilities:
- Assembly: Independently assembling and building structures from blueprint drawings in the workshop;
- Metalworking: Processing metal through folding, drilling, rolling, and shearing;
- Welding: Welding various components using Stick (SMAW) and/or MIG/MAG techniques;
- On-site Installation: Mounting and installing structures on-site at our clients’ locations;
- Safety & Quality: Monitoring quality standards and ensuring workplace safety.
Job requirements
We are looking for a proactive colleague with a passion for metalworking. You recognize yourself in the following profile:
- Education: A completed background in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent through practical experience;
- Experience: Demonstrable experience in metalworking and the ability to read technical drawings fluently;
- Certifications: Possession of a valid VCA certificate (or willingness to obtain one);
- Welding Skills: Proficiency in MIG/MAG and/or Stick (Elektrode) welding;
- Attitude: Flexible, solution-oriented, and equally comfortable working independently or within a team;
- Mobility: Possession of a Category B driver's license and your own transport.
What we offer
In addition to a challenging work environment with plenty of freedom and responsibility, you can count on:
- Salary: A salary between €2,850 and €3,800 gross per month (based on a 40-hour workweek), depending on your experience and welding certifications;
- Employment Conditions: Good secondary benefits in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement (CAO), including pension accumulation and a generous number of vacation days;
- Development: Opportunities to take additional courses or obtain new welding certifications;
- Equipment: Working with professional tools and well-maintained machinery.
